Technine was founded in 1993 by Ethan Fortier and a group of associates. It began as a small binding manufacturer in Beaver Creek, Colorado, that designed the first baseless binding. It was one of the first companies to bring some style to the binding world and of the first companies to produce a binding with a toe-cap. The company has since moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, and expanded into a large name in snowboarding that produces a complete line of gear and outerwear. It abandoned its baseless binding in favor of more popular baseplate models and began manufacturing snowboards in 2004.
Most of Technine's snowboards are categorized on a sliding scale from freestyle to big mountain. There are also an all-mountain freestyle and all-mountain category between freestyle and big mountain. Technine's Team Series consisting of Team Goon Town, Team B-Shaw, Team Rasta, Team E-Man and Team Deadlung are designed in conjuction with team riders and each model includes different sizes optimized for different riding styles like jibbing, freestyle and all-mountain. The Jib and Technine X F.O.D.T are designed for jib and park riding. The rest of the men's line is the MFM Pro, MVP, Men's Suerte, Icon, Street, Mass Appeal, Midget Mafia, MFM Classic and Split T. Women's line includes the Women's Suerte, True Love, T-9 Series, The Dime and Women's Jib.
